Special Announcement for Sword and Sorcery Comic Book Fans
Keeping Mr. Fox's voice alive in Comic Books!
Greetings, adventurers! Here at the Gardner Francis Fox Library, we cherish and celebrate the incredible legacy of Gardner Francis Fox, the prolific author of 156 vintage paperback novels. While many know him for his legendary contributions to DC Comics from 1937 to 1968, Fox’s talent extended into the realm of sword and sorcery, creating unforgettable characters like Kothar Barbarian Swordsman, Kyrik Warlock Warrior, and Niall of the Far Travels.
Today, we're thrilled to announce a special project dedicated to keeping Mr. Fox’s voice alive within his comics. In 1950, Fox penned three 10-page comic book stories of Crom the Barbarian for Avon Publishing. Now, we have a unique opportunity for you to support this legacy.
Introducing CROM Collected 2024 Revised Edition, a 140-page, magazine-size black and white comic book. This edition features a 35-page pulp prose story called "Crom and the Warlock of Sharrador," based on Fox’s 1953 novella "The Warlock of Sharrador" for Planet Stories. I’ve personally illustrated 35 pieces for this prose story, bringing Fox’s vivid world to life.
If you are as passionate about preserving Gardner Francis Fox’s incredible contributions to the sword and sorcery genre as we are, please visit www.cromthebarbarian.com to learn more about this exciting project and how you can support it.
I appreciate your support in keeping the spirit of Gardner Francis Fox alive!
Sincerely,
Kurt Brugel
